Composition/L ERYTHROMYCIN 125.00 g Excipients Qs ad to 1.00 L Description Erythromycin is a macrolide antibiotic that binds reversibly to the 50S subunit of ribosomes, resulting in the blockage of transpeptidation or translocation reactions impairing protein synthesis and inhibiting cell growth. Indications For preventive and therapeutic treatment of Chronic Respiratory Disease (CRD) caused by Mycoplasma infections, and other respiratory diseases caused by erythromycin-sensitive bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus (infectious arthritis), Haemophilus paragallinarum (infectious coryza) and Pasteurella multocida ( pasteurellosis; pneumonia) in poultry. CONTRAINDICATIONS: Hypersensitivity to erythromycin. Animals with seriously impaired hepatic and/or renal function. Concurrent administration to tetracyclines, chloramphenicol, macrolides and lincosamides. Withdrawal: Meat and Egg - 6 days Dosage and Administration POULTRY and SWINE: Mix 1-2 ml per Liter of drinking water for 3-5 days or equivalent to 25 mg/kg Body Weight. Or base on the following computations: Broilers and Pullets: Dose per 1000 Birds/Day Ave. Weight (in Kg.) x 200 = _____ml/1000 Birds/Day Administer the computed dose for 8-12 hours. Medicated water should be the sole source of drinking water during the period of treatment. |
